Breathing Apparatus Wearers

Who Should Attend

This course is aimed at staff that will need instruction in the use of breathing apparatus. This training allows assessment of staff in the risk critical skill and also to give any necessary updates.

What They Will Learn

To gain a better understanding of breathing apparatus. To secure the health, safety and welfare of its staff at some incidents it is necessary for staff to be trained and assessed in the safe and effective use of breathing apparatus.

Course Content

•Basic physiology and respiration relevant to breathing apparatus

•Operating principles of breathing apparatus and ancillary equipment.

•Correct safety and wearing procedures

•Practical wearing sessions

•Entry techniques and rescue

•Standard protective clothing worn in conjunction with breathing apparatus

•Servicing, Testing and maintenance of Breathing Apparatus

•Rescue and Casualty care techniques
