Sector Pathway into Employment in Health & Social Care

The Health & Social Care Sector look for exceptional people who can do an exceptional job. With a wide range of roles and opportunities available there really is something for everyone.

Working in partnership with Adult Learning Services, eduk8 developed a Health & Social Care Pathway withe the clear intent of engaging local residents who can make a difference to the lives of our most vulnerable members of society, and show them how in return, this can make a difference to their life.

One learner was unemployed and looking for work. She felt that Health & Social Care would be a good fit. We were able to provide training and match her with one of our Health & Social Care Partners.

The Learner Impact – Chloe

"I thoroughly enjoyed the training especially the basic life support practical, something I had never done before and feel everyone should know.

I also found the medication introduction training interesting as it gives an insight into the different situations and dangers that don’t initially cross your mind.

It’s helped me feel more comfortable carrying out my job as I feel i’m a lot more prepared for certain situations such as when CPR may need to be carried out or even useful knowledge such as how more than 14 units of alcohol should not be consumed to help bring awareness for those I care for.

I enjoy working in the Health and Social sector as everyday is different and you know you can make a difference.

The tutors who provide the training, in my case, John are very passionate and and it was heart-warming to know why the training they carry out was particularly important to them and engages you even more."

Attending the training pathway and working in Health & Social Care has improved Chloe's confidence, self-esteem, wellbeing and provided a feeling of pride and satisfaction from achieving something worthwhile and helping others

The Employer Impact

Chloe is absolutely brilliant. She is always willing to help out where she can, she treats the service users with dignity and respect and we always get compliments through about how she is excellent with them. Chloe is definitely one of the good ones.
