ALS – Funded Community Learning
Funded by and delivered in conjunction with Liverpool Adult Learning Services, Liverpool City Council and Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, eduk8 offers non-accredited training programmes for adults aged 19+. Sharing Adult Learning Services' vision, eduk8 provides courses designed to boost self-esteem and confidence, enhance well-being, improve employment prospects, or help you set up or grow your own business.
Here’s who should consider signing up:
- Liverpool residents aged 19+ (on the day learning commences)
- Those prepared to commit to a minimum of 30 hours of supported learning
- Those who want to make positive changes to their lives
- Those who are unemployed and want to get back into work or
- Those who work and earn less than £33958.00 and want to progress or change careers
eduk8 has strong links to local employers, and we will work together to identify the right road for you, supporting you on that journey and helping you to gain an interview with an employer in your chosen sector at the end of your learning. These are our current courses:
- Introduction to Adult Social Care: This course provides a complete overview of the role of a carer. It covers the 15 standards of the Care Certificate and the essential information you need to keep yourself and those you care for safe.
- Introduction to Child Care: This course is a perfect stepping stone for those interested in a career in childcare. It provides the knowledge you need to take your first steps, covering the Early Years Framework and essential health, safety, and safeguarding modules, ensuring you are well-prepared for a rewarding career in childcare.
- Spectator Safety: As a steward, get involved in local and city-wide events. Once you have completed your training, you can apply for stewarding roles at LFC, EFC, Aintree Races and Concerts to earn extra cash!
- Enterprise - How to Run Your Own Successful Business: Designed for those with a business idea or a small business they want to grow, this course covers the essentials of running a business. At the end of the course, you will have completed an easy-to-use business plan to help you take your next steps and have ongoing support from our team of business experts.
Or if you are unsure of your next steps but want to progress, There is our
Health and Wellbeing Pathway: This could be the boost you are looking for. Led by our experienced tutors, you'll be offered one-to-one support to help you identify your goals and take part in activities and learning to help you look forward, overcome challenges, and overcome self-limiting beliefs. At the end of the course, you will have identified your next steps, which might include further training, volunteering, or employment.
You can join an open group and meet new people, or if you are an employer or a community organisation, we can run a bespoke course for you.
